Introduction
MMPX Studio is an editor for playable ads and small, instant-loading web games. It runs in your browser, keeps your projects in the cloud, and has an AI built in that knows how playables are made. mmpx is the engine underneath: the runtime that ships inside every game you export.
What you make with it
- Playable ads — the short, interactive ads that run inside other apps. One project builds a package for each ad network you pick, shaped and checked the way that network wants it. See Playable ads.
- Web games — small games that load in a blink, for game portals, messenger mini-apps or your own site. A web build is a single HTML page.
How a project is put together
If you've used Unity or Cocos Creator, you'll recognise most of it.
| Idea | What it is |
|---|---|
| Scene | A tree of entities — what the player sees at one time. A playable is usually one or two scenes. |
| Entity | A thing in a scene: a button, a coin, a background. It has a name, a place in the tree, and components. |
| Component | Data on an entity that decides what it is: a Sprite draws an image, a Button makes it tappable, a Text shows words. See the component reference. |
| Script | A component you write in TypeScript — the game's logic. See Scripting. |
| Prefab | A saved entity (and its children) you can place many times or spawn from a script. |
| Asset | A file in the project: images, sounds, fonts, scenes, prefabs, scripts, animations. |
| Build profile | What a build makes and how: a playable for some networks, or a web page; which scenes; store links; size settings. |
Coordinates
Like Unity and Cocos, +y is up and positive rotation turns counter-clockwise. 2D content draws only under a Canvas, whose size is the project's design resolution (1080 × 1920 for a portrait playable, for example). A child of the Canvas at position (0, 0) sits in the centre of the screen.
